Sri Lanka imposes daily 2-hour power cuts

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) — Daily power cuts of more than two hours are being imposed across Sri Lanka because of a drought and problems at a coal-fired generating plant.

Ceylon Electricity Board Vice Chairman Anura Wijayapala says officials will decide on Wednesday whether to lengthen the outages, which began last week.
