Citing the devastation to his city from Hurricane Sandy, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Thursday endorsed President Barack Obama on the grounds that he is willing to confront climate change.

"One sees climate change as an urgent problem that threatens our planet; one does not. I want our president to place scientific evidence and risk management above electoral politics," Bloomberg said in an editorial titled "A Vote for a President Who Will Lead on Climate Change."
