Obama targets more funding for Everglades, touts restoration

Rolling out the political red carpet in a key swing state, the Obama administration announced Friday $80 million in new money for restoring the Everglades and sent several senior officials to remind voters of President Obama's environmental efforts in Florida.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, who led a delegation of four senior officials to make the announcement in the central Florida tourist haven of Kissimmee, said the money will help ranchers and farmers restore 23,000 acres of wetlands in the northern Everglades watershed.
