By The Associated Press on November 10, 2011
A gas leak trapped more than 40 coal miners underground in southwest China on Thursday, less than a week after dozens of miners were pulled out safely from a cave-in at another Chinese coal mine.
The accident Tuesday at the Sizhuang Coal Mine in Yunnan province's city of Qujing occurred at about 6:30 a.m. local time (2230 GMT, Wednesday), the official Xinhua News Agency said.
The Yunnan emergency response office said a rescue operation was under way, Xinhua reported.
