Jaczko departs with warnings on pace of safety, license renewals

Outgoing Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Gregory Jaczko on Thursday delivered his departing warnings in the same unapologetic manner he ran the commission.

He told reporters the re-licensing of some existing reactors may be delayed by a recent court ruling and declared he is worried that post-Fukushima nuclear safety reforms in the United States may not proceed fast enough because of industry opposition.
