House Republicans slam White House in final Solyndra report

House Republicans on Thursday wrapped up an 18-month  investigation into the failure of solar manufacturer Solyndra with a report that alleged the Obama administration knowingly squandered taxpayer money in awarding the firm a $535 million federal loan guarantee.

"The evidence demonstrates administration officials knew Solyndra was a bad bet from the beginning, but the White House was determined to make Solyndra a stimulus success story at any cost," said House Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton, R-Mich., and Energy and Commerce Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman Cliff Stearns, R-Fla.
