House panel explores Powder River Basin, coal leasing

A House Natural Resources subcommittee aims Tuesday to explore the benefits of expanded coal production as majority Republicans take fresh shots at President Barack Obama's newly minted climate agenda.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Subcommittee will hear testimony on the economic benefits and job creation potential of expanded coal mining in the Powder River Basin in Montana and Wyoming.
