Green groups press White House on fracking rule, counter oil lobby

Environmental groups on Monday pushed back against the American Petroleum Institute's effort to soften planned regulation of air pollution from hydraulic fracturing, urging the White House to ignore what they called "misinformation" being circulated by the oil lobby.
The green groups' letter to White House adviser Valerie Jarrett is the latest indication of the high stakes both sides see in the pending regulation of America's shale gas boom.
