Court dismisses suit against higher ethanol blends
A federal appeals court on Friday tossed out a lawsuit by opponents of the Obama administration's effort to expand ethanol use. The ruling was hailed by biofuels groups but criticized by the food, car and oil lobbies.
In a 2-1 decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled that groups representing food makers, auto and engine companies, and the oil industry did not have legal standing to sue the Environmental Protection Agency for permitting higher blends of ethanol in gasoline.
