Biofuels industry rallies to defend Renewable Fuel Standard

Biofuels groups on Thursday announced a new coalition and advertising campaign to defend the Renewable Fuels Standard, which has come under attack on Capitol Hill in response to drought conditions and implementation problems.

The newly-formed Fuels America group brings together the industry's main trade groups and some of its top producers, who hope to counter claims that the standard's mandated blending of biofuels should be scaled back or repealed.
