If Mitt Romney wins the White House in November, he would do well to study what happened with the wind energy production tax credit on Thursday.
In many ways the Republican Party has become the party of oil, gas and coal. But key lawmakers among them -- namely Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, and Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, -- made it clear to Romney that when renewable energy equals local jobs, he's not going to be able to please all Republicans.
