Voters who tune in to the second presidential debate on Tuesday will likely see President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney again promise to cut oil imports and lower gasoline prices.

But it's also a good bet that the two candidates will sidestep, if not completely avoid, any discussion of climate change. It is surely a topic that offers nothing but peril for both candidates.
