Later today, Mitt Romney's and Barack Obama's presidential campaigns will square off in a debate on energy policy. The main players won't be present, dispatching surrogates instead to make their case this early in the campaign cycle.
But the Business Roundtable event at Washington's Newseum museum is a prelude to a fall debate that will engage the two candidates on one of the most unsettled policy issues on the American political landscape.
